Student Protests Continue at Azad University
27 October 2009 Posted By Lloyd Chebaclo
Nearly 2000 students of Tehran’s Azad University protested the Iraninan “coup government” and its treatment of student activists. Students gathered and chanted slogans for the green movement including “Death to the dictator,” “Coup government, resign, resign!”, and “Ya Hossein, Mir Hossein!”
The protests persist in the face of threats and pressure from security forces. Basij and security forces are also reportedly trying to intimidate protesters by filming them.

One Response to “Student Protests Continue at Azad University”
Lloyd, I believe you may have embedded a video clip but it isn’t showing.
Yes, here in America, we had regular student demonstrations at universities around the country, from 1965-1972. They were quite vocal and anti-establishment. They demanded a more open society, human rights, an end to war and a tolerance toward the socialist world order. However, come election time, their side was defeated in 1968 and even trounced in 1972.
Judging by the recent WorldPublicOpinion poll, this could very well be the case for the current situation inside Iran.
That is to say, your persistent effort is similar to the USSR’s Pravda coverage of the US social and political situation in the late 60s, early 70s. All protest, no mainstream.
