Setareh, I thought about my comment and coming back to offer a revision, found your reply. Thanks for commenting.

My revision is as follows:

when will the US properly prosecute the murderer, sexual abuse and torture of Abu Gharaib, Gitmo, Baghram and many secret black sites around the world?

-------------------

Here's the problem, Setareh: NIAC advocates anti-Iran US policies in the name of HRs. How can this be justified in light of recent US HR violations? That's never adequately explained.

Glass houses.

Is this actually some form of political expediency on the part of NIAC, we don't know about?

Rapprochement, Setareh. That's the key to a better life for ordinary Iranians. Not additional, continuous points of confrontation.

Rapprochement is made all that more difficult be adding fuel to the demonization process now in effect by those who wish harm on Iran. It only serves to empower the hawks seeking economic war or outright war.

Rapprochement is the better way. It was Trita's original pursuit for NIAC. It must somehow be revitalized.

Pirouz,
No where did I make a comment about the US's extraordinary track record of human rights. You incorrectly assume that I think such US actions are all right. As many other Americans, I think it is terrible. That, however, does not make Iran's human rights violations any less deplorable.

Just to restate the obvious, Setareh: when will the US prosecute the murderers, rapists and torturers of Abu Gharaib, Gitmo, Baghram and hundredes of secret black sites around the world?

When you're asking the US to extend an Iran policy related to HRs, don't you think it should make some form of effort in cleaning up its own HR dirty laundry? Here the Islamic Republic of Iran has at least made an effort of some kind- any kind.
