One Response to “IAEA Chief Addresses Media After Vienna Talks”
I may be wrong on this, but here’s my take on Iran’s possible reluctance.
Say Iran commits itself to this agreement. Next week there is supposed to be another meeting regarding Iran’s nuclear program, in more general terms. With Iran signed up to transfer the bulk of its LEU on Friday, and then next week the West demanding that Iran give up its right to enrichment, Iran could find itself in a PR jam,
Iran’s accused ElBaradei of lying to them in the past, to which there is evidence to back up the claim. France has in the past let them down with nuclear fuel supplies. And for well over a decade now, Russia has yet to live up to its word with Bushehr.
Genuine causes for Iranian trepidation. Make no mistake about it, it’s a giant leap of faith for Iran to transfer its very hard earned LEU stock.
I guess we’ll know the answer this Friday.
